2019 Hurricane Half Marathon and 5K Race Information
Race Date: Saturday, September 14, 2019
Half Marathon Start Time: 7:00 am
5K Start Time: 7:15 am
Start Line: The start and finish are located at the Vacation Villas at Sand Hollow Resort which are located at 5662 Clubhouse Dr., Hurricane, UT 84737.
Parking: Participant and spectator parking is located at the Clubhouse, less than a quarter mile up the road from the start line. Please park in designated areas as to not impact other users of the facilities. Please follow any instructions from race volunteers.
Course: The Hurricane Half Marathon and 5K courses are beautiful, yet challenging. They are both loop courses starting and finishing at the Villas at Sand Hollow. The first 3 miles are extraordinarily scenic as you run the back 9 of the world-renowned Sand Hollow Golf Course. Be sure to take in the Virgin River far below and the Pine Valley Mountains in the distance as you run atop the red cliffs and along the emerald green grass of the golf course. The most challenging portion of the course is also the most scenic so your legs will forgive you the steep descent and moderate climb as you take in the beauty all around you. Upon exiting the golf course, you will make your way through the neighborhoods of the Sand Hollow Resort. The 5K runners will return to the Villas while the half-marathoners will continue toward the crystal clear waters of Sand Hollow Reservoir. You will run along the shores of the lake on paved and dirt roads. You will exit Sand Hollow State Park and run through Dixie Springs and along the highway a short portion until you return to the Sand Hollow Resort and the finish line at the Villas.
Finisher's Medals: There will be finisher's medals for all finishers of both the 5K and the half marathon! And not just any finisher's medal, but giant, custom, super amazing medals that you will be proud to display.
Packet pick-up will take place Friday, September 13 from 4-8 pm at Classic Sports (984 W State St, Hurricane) and race morning at the start line from 6 am-6:45 am.
