Swimming Pool Staff
Katie DeMille - Pool Manager, CPO
My husband and I moved to the Hurricane Valley in 2004 as newly weds. We've enjoyed establishing our family here. We have four children. They keep us busy and happy. I became a lifeguard in 1996 and worked for Clark County Parks and Rec in Las Vegas until 2002. I went from a lifeguard to a swim instructor to a pool manager to an aquatic supervisor overseeing four pools. I gained a lot of knowledge and experience. When the pool manager position here in Hurricane became available in 2007 I applied and was hired. I have enjoyed helping grow our programs, improving our facility and developing our staff in professionalism. Most of all I have enjoyed being a part of our great community. When I'm not chasing kids or working I like to be out backpacking, competing in triathlons, and scrap-booking.

Nola - Community Center Office Manager
Born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah. I married my high school sweetheart, Dave Wayman. In September of 1981, a job opened with a team that had only been in Salt Lake since 1979. I decided to apply and got the job with the Utah Jazz. After working for the Utah Jazz for 25 years we both decided to retire on January 12, 2007. We traveled for the first couple of years then settled in Hurricane.
I have worked for the Hurricane Community Center since December of 2011. I started as a volunteer and in September of 2012 I became a part-time employee. I enjoy working with children and their parents. We have a wonderful staff here and enjoy working with each other.
As someone fairly new to Hurricane, I can see all the opportunities that the Community Center offers to the children and adults in our area that otherwise would not be available, and I am very proud to be a part of it.
