Track Meets: Please arrive early for registration

Parents are responsible for any travel or fees for meets.

Program Description: Hurricane track is a running program that will help kids compete in a variety of sprints and middle distance track events including the 50m, 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1-mile and 4x100m relay,

Field Events include Long Jump, Softball Throw, Javelin, Disc, and Shot Put. 

Kids will practice 2 days a week with coaches to help them improve their speed, running and throwing technique. Coaches will also teach proper warm up and recovery techniques. Runners will train to compete in track meets in Hurricane and surrounding towns.

Program Description: Cross Country is a running program where your child will build their running endurance and speed by running in various locations, terrains and speeds. We will also teach correct running and recovery techniques. Your child will train to compete individually and as a team in a series of 1-2 mile races throughout the season.

 

Anticipated Outcome: Your child will gain physical strength and endurance, develop healthy active lifestyle habits, and gain confidence through team building and positive competitive events. Runners will develop strong mental skills and build a strong sense of discipline in many aspects, both athletic and life.
